    @AjViShus

    The increasing usage of turbos by auto manufacturers is a direct result of increasing legal requirements on fuel economy.

    The reason why Porsche can get away with having purist NA engines is because they are part of the VAG conglomerate. Every VW with a turbo (like my GTI) makes a lovely NA Porsche possible :)

    @AjViShus no they really can, look at the lexus lfa,acura nsx,the honda s2000 all examples of N/A engines with high hp per liter. Porsche uses turbo’s on their top models, panamera turbo,911 gt2, cayanne turbo, etc all of their flagships use turbos. N/A is good for a track car because of the responce you can get. I’m sure any company can make a good one with enough development. But there just easily modded and are faster stock, make more torque and who doesent love the sound of a turbo?

    @AjViShus Well i have owned my honda accord v4 for 3 years and put 50k miles on it and only paid for the new tires. My cousin wasted over 35k for the 335i and it has fuel pump issues and he just got it. That sucks paying so much money for a car that is the ultimate driving machine but won’t start.

    @crzygutrsnobrdr

    your right, but due to the fact that they have opted to go turbo is the reason that they don’t excel in making a full stout N/A motors that whops over 600hp. Lemme ask you guys this, If Turbo is so superior as some of you might say, why do companies still offer NA? I think its because companies like Porsche who strive to get as much as possible from their motors before add ons (turbos) are proud that they can make as much HP without the help of said turbos.

  11. crzygutrsnobrdr says:

    @AjViShus they don’t rely on turbo’s, they utalize them to save weight and still get the same performance by not using a big N/A engine. They also get way better gas milage from turbo’s on top of that, which japanese cars are known for. Its not they can’t its that they haven’t tried. The vq is a 3.5 you cant compare it to a 4.0. its hp per liter that really counts

    @AjViShus First: I’m German and I love German cars, too, but just take a look at the Honda S2000: 250 HP from 2 liters N/A… and it could be even more nowadays. The point is: Turbo = torque = acceleration. So the Japanese want their cars to accelerate very fast: turbo, AWD.
