What a numpty.
what an idiot, he loved the original TT?? and how did the RS4 take after the TT …this guy must have painted on eyes
Are you crazy?! Z4 all the way, and especially for that price. You want trunk space get yourself a mini van.
@redd1th The new 335i may be faster. I was comparing it to the Edmunds tested 5.3 time. It’s the same for the base TT 5.3. It’s due to 2012 TT light weight (much smaller and aluminum frame). That Edmunds statement you quote refers to the earlier generation TT – universally panned by critics. The new platform is a total rebuild. It is a really fun car to drive even if it’s not as focused as a Caymen. It’s just a frugal, fast, fun luxury ride if you dont’ care about track day.
@redwerks I agree that the S4 is faster 0-60 than the 335i but any proof that shows a base 2.0T TT which has 211 horsepower and 258 lbs of torque is going to get the same time as a 300 hp and 300 lbs of torque 335i? All the reviews and magazines I’ve read do not provide evidence of your theory.
Edmunds: “although potentially fast in a straight line, this TT was never considered a true sports car due to its potentially heavy curb weight and softly sprung suspension. “
@redd1th I love the 335i but Motortrend gets 4.8 because they drop the clutch. I own an S4 which hits 60 in 4.9 sec but Motortrend reports 4.4 seconds for the S4. The base TT (not the S) has the same 0 to 60 time as the 335i so an argument could be made here on price. I can tell you from experience that you only feel understeer at the outside limit – like on a track. The TT feels like a go kart very low to the ground and is amazing fun on twisty roads. Much different than the 335 and S4
@nsousa817 It says as optioned, probably with higher trim levels
@redwerks Motortrend states the 335i doing 0-60 in 4.8. It also states that the TTS does 0-60 in 5.0 so the TT would naturally do the 0-60 slower. He was commenting that for the money, you had better options. Also when pushing this car hard, it has major understeer.
For the money, this car is definitely not worth it.
Dunno what country that sticker price is, but in the U.S. it starts at $38,300; 211 hp & 0-60 in 5.3.
SHOW US THE CAR STOP BITCHING
“Zed” not “zee”
unappreciative prick, its a nice car, just do a constructive review.
this guy takes a very good car and makes a big deal about all the small problems you know what cars.com you dont know to review cars you know that
good god this guy is awful!
No shit it docent stand out anymore dumbass bc everyone copied Audi so it’s no longer a new vehicle segment.
this guy makes cars feel bad
Only a man with a feathered hairstyle wearing a golf T could think that the style evolution of the TT has taken a negative direction.
Also, the original TT was a repackaged Golf! This new variant which has the same 0 to 60 time as a BMW 335i ,now with an aluminum space frame, makes the car much lighter and fun to drive.
This is a great lesson that an ignorant person with a computer and video camera can spew garbage onto youtube and some people will actually believe this is relevant.
@kimjb95 Don’t forget it’s a blast to drive, has a very beautiful interior and exterior (pictures don’t do it justice) and the base version has a 0 to 60 that rivals a Porsche Caymen (and for just over $1000 and under warranty you can tune it to keep pace with an M3 - well at least until 100K
Great mileage and amazing quattro 4 wheel drive.
200 hp on 50k car,,,, and doesnt even look that good….audi getting too confident with the desine?
Car and Driver and consumer reports are the worst reviewers i have ever watched, CNET, and saabkyle kick their biased asses
