Audi TT Mazda RX-8 Vs. 420 HP Audi R8 at VIR Grand East.
Chasing an Audi R8 around Viriginia International Raceway during the MazdaDriverS.com event on June 14, 2009. Able to catch him a bit in the twisties, but just can’t keep up with the power. Mistake letting the BMW by, as they hesitated to pass and cost me all my momentum. Stinkin’ Bimmers always ruin my fun.
My car is an otherwise stock 2005 RX-8 with Koni shocks, BFG R1 tires, Hawk HP+ front pads, and B&B muffler. Camera is a Creative Labs Vado HD.

Was that Audi driver blindfolded?
the audi – too early braking
nice video thanx man
Nice driving mate, are you the Stigs American cousin?
tu fais pitié a vouloir comparer un vieux rx8 a un r8
great ! the one with x does even better in tuning
u’ll win in a track with more corner
@wankelbolt koni sports with oem springs or with eibach?
Nice.
I don’t really believe the comments…err…excuses from TuckerBud44. I think wankelbolt is just a better driver.
lol, on the straights the audi flies away, but the rx8 beats him on the turns, such great cars
Fantastic driving. You handled some of those turns textbook. I love watching your videos!
Now i realise why they say Zoom Zoom…
It’s like the roadrunner from WB, beeb beeb…
I’m hoping i can buy this care some day, but i think they’ll stop importing them…
guidi veramente bene, complimenti , non è da molti stare dietro a una r8 con una rx8, anche se vabbè è logico nel diritto l’r8 da il bona……
Hey, it was fun chasing you. Beautiful car. I think you picked the “right” color and I’m glad you opted for the body-color b-pillar panels. Shameless plug: If you come back with us this Summer, give a guy a ride, please?
@gpcirillo man, at least he’s driving it on the track, thats a lot better than what 99% of supercar owners will ever do.
Its funny how they race the RX-8 to a super car that is over 4 times its price
well since a track is a controlled environment you can push the car cause the worst that will happen is you spin it around as long as you arent being stupid nothing bad will happen.
@gpcirillo I understand your sentiment, especially with a high performance car named after a race car – but on the other hand I have had people tell me I’m a fool to risk it at the track at all. I can afford to replace it, but I it’s too nice a car to wreck. If you were driving 160 grand around the track, wouldn’t you be careful?
That’s why I have a beater track car! If you’re gonna own an R8, it’s a waste not to wring it out on the track (the only place where you can make use of what you bought). But if you can’t afford to replace it, then you are wasting your money!
u r a good driver!
u can say to the R8: lets go to the twisty mountain
Hey, that’s me in the R8. Thanks for the great video! Yes, I’m conservative in the braking zones, don’t want to wreck my nice car… Search here for “tuckerbud44″ to see videos from inside the R8.
I see you are a Good driver. good thing RX8 is designed for corners so you can catch-up to bad the fast smooth silent 4×4 sport Audi R8 is to fast for the RX8 that i loved the most.
Nice vid! Looks like a fun track. Experience FTW.
Great Video.
Great vid!
Thank you very much.
They are great cars.
